New Delhi : The Vice President of India M Venkiah Naidu on May 26, 2018, said that connecting common man with the developmental journey of the country is crucial to build a strong nation.

Naidu was addressing a gathering after releasing the book titled “Ankaha Lucknow’ authored by Lalji Tandon, at Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The Governor of Uttar Pradesh Ram Naik, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Deputy Chief Ministers of Uttar Pradesh Dr Dinesh Sharma and Keshav Prasad Maurya, and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.

The Vice President said that Lalji Tandon has dedicated his life to Lucknow and made valuable contributions in the in developing the city in terms of economy, literarcy, and cultural aspects.  He also appreciated him for continuing former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s literary legacy, according to a PIB release.

The Vice President termed the book ‘Ankaha Lucknow’ as a great example of folk history writing. He urged citizens of Lucknow to revive their tradition and put in collaborative efforts to enhance the legacy of the great city. Naidu said that everyone must be aware of the great traditions, glorious heritage and priceless heritage of the country so that the country can move forward on the path of desirable progress.

The Vice President said that taking development to the poorest of the poor is crucial to realise the Antyodaya dream of Deendayal Upadhyay ji.
