Patna : World No 2 Rafael Nadal, 32, Spain, has returned to World No 1 position in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) rankings released on June 25, 2018, swapping place with Roger Federer, 36, Switzerland. Nadal returned to World No 1 position as Federer failed to defend his Halle Open title in Germany on June 24, 2018, suffering shock defeat to Borna Coric, 21, Croatia, in the final.

Nadal has now 8,770 points while Federer has 8,720 points. Nadal leads by just 50 points though he has not played any tournament after after his French Open triumph recently. Alexander Zverev 21, Germany, retains his World No 3 position with 5,755 points while Juan Martin del Porto remains World No 4 with 5,080 points.

But, Marin Cilic has jumped one place to be ranked World No 5 after winning Queen’s Club Championship defeating winner of 12 Grand Slam titles Novak Djokovic, 31, in the final. Cilic has 5,060 points just 20 points behind del Porto.

Grigor Dimitrov, 27, Bulgaria, has slipped one place to be ranked 6th with 4,780 points while Dominic Thiem, 24, Austria, remains World No 7 with 3,835 points. Kevin Anderson, 32, South Africa, remains World No 8 with 3,635 points. David Goffin is World No 9th with 3,110 points while John Isner, 33, USA, is World No 10 with 3,070 points.

Borna Coric has jumped 13 places to be ranked World No 21 after winning the Halle Open title. Djokovic has also jumped 5 places to be ranked World No 17th after reaching the final of Queen’s Club Championship.

Andreas Seppi, 34, Italy, has jumped 7 places to be ranked World No 43. Yuichi Sugita, 29, Japan, has also jumped 7 places and is ranked World No 45. Jeremy Chardy, 31, France, has jumped 15 places to be ranked World No 46th. But, Feliciano Lopez, 36, Spain, has slipped 33 places to be ranked World No 70. Winner of three Grand Slam titles Stan Wawrinka, 33, has jumped 36 places to be ranked World No 225th with 255 points.

Yuki Bhambri, 25, India, has slipped one place to be ranked World No 85th with 687 points while Ramkumar Ramnathan, 23, India, is ranked World No 125th with 448 points. Prajnesh Gunneswaran, 28, India, has slipped 13 places to be ranked World No 165th with 350 points. Sumit Nagal, 20, India, has slipped 2 places to be ranked 239th with 239 points.

But, Saketh Myneni, 30, India, has jumpedĀ  85 places to be ranked World No 362 with 124 points. Arjun Kadhe, 24, India, has slipped two places to be ranked 366th with 123 points. Sasi Kumar Mukund, 21, India, has jumped one place to be ranked 386th with 110 points.
