Irregularities detected in working of Aanganwadi centres in Bagaha

Bagaha : SDM, Bagaha, Ghanshyam Meena, on July 16, 2018, constituted a committee of four officers to inquire into the alleged in functioning of Aanganwadi centres under Bagaha-1 block in West Champaran district. The SDM had received several complaints from different areas regarding functioning of these centres under Bagaha-1 block.

The committee comprises Executive Magistrate, Bagaha,  Prakash Sinha, Assistant Election Officer Anil Patel, Sub- Register, Bagaha, Ashwini Kumar, and Circle Officer, Bagaha-2 Anchal, Shriram Oraon.

The four officers on July 16 made surprised visits of about 23 Aanganwadi centres of which No 35, 43 and 45  centres were found closed while centre no.68 in Baragoan panchayat was found running from a private house. The day was fixed for distribution of Take Home Ration (THR) at every Aanganwadi centre. When the team visited at Centre No 66, 100, 106, 107, 108, and 109, it  found that pregnant and lactating mothers and adolescent girls were not being provided meals at prescribed ratio. The SDM said that a detail report regarding the irregularities at these centres was sent to DM, West Champaran, Nilesh Ramchandra Deore for necessary action on July 17.
