Patna : A team of Kotwali police station, Patna, arrested four persons from Asthawan in Nalanda district on August 14, 2018, for collecting about Rs 16.5 lakh from unemployed youth by promising them jobs in the government service.

The 4 arrested were identified as Paramveer Ranjan, Uday Shankar, Munna Kumar, and Sujeet Kumar. They had duped huge cash from around 15 candidates aspiring for a job in Bihar State Power (Holding) Company Ltd(BSPHCL) by promising them jobs of Accountant and Junior Accountant Assistant in BSPHC Ltd.

Confirming the 4 arrest from Asthawan in this connection, SHO Kotwali police station, Ram Shankar Singh, said that police swung into action after an FIR was lodged against them and some others by the job aspirants. The SHO further stated that the Kotwali police team was assisted by Asthawan police in these arrests. He also said that the 4 arrested had collected money from jobless youth in the name of car lottery, admission in different teaching instutions, jobs etc.

TheĀ  Officer on Special Duty (OS.D), BSPHCL, had lodged an FIR in this connection with Kotwali police station on July 31,2018. Police located the 4 accused through call details and tower location. Police have also seized 13 mobiles, a diary and a State Bank of India (SBI) Passbook from the four arrested persons.
