Patna : Vijay Ratnakar Gutte directorial “The Accidental Prime Minister” starring Anupam Kher and Akshay Khanna had a modest opening on January 11, 2019. Released across 1,300 screens, the film did a business of nearly Rs 4.5 crore on its first day in the country. The film is likely bto pick up in the coming days.
The film revolves round the life of former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh. The film is based on Sanjay Baru’s book of the same name. Sanjay Baru was Media Advisor to Dr Manmohan Singh, who was Prime Minister of India from 2004 to 2014.
Anupam Kher plays the role Dr Manmohan Singh in the film while Akshay Khanna plays the role Sanjay Baru. German actor Suzanne Bernert has played the role of former Congress president Sonia Gandhi in the film while Arjun Mathur has played the role of Rahul Gandhi. Akshay Khanna is the narrator of the story.
