Ara : Additional District and Sessions Judge VI, Ara, Tribhuwan Yadav, on March 2, 2019, sentenced to rigorous life imprisonment four accused and also slapped a fine of Rs 2,000 on each of them in connection with murder of a person. The court awarded rigorous life imprisonment to Ramesh Ram, Chandesh Ram, Mintu Ram and Akhilesh Ram.
Ram Prasad Ram of village Haripur under Koelwar police station was going to have a dinner along with his brother Ranjeet Kumar Ram on October 31, 2004, when five named accused lynched Ranjeet Kumar Ram with traditional weapons killing him on the spot. A named FIR was lodged with Koelwar police station against five persons but one of the named accused died during pendency of the case.
