Patna : World Number 4 Badminton player Kidambi Srikanth, 24, India, lost his second consecutive match in the BWF Super Series Finals at Dubai on December 14, 2017. Srikanth, who had won four Super Series tournaments in 2017 besides reaching final of another, lost in straight sets to World Number 7 Chou Tien Chen of Chinese Taipei 18-21, 18-21. Srikanth had also lost in straight sets to World Number 1 Viktor Axelsen, Denmark, on December 13.
World Number 1 Viktor Axelsen, Denmark, however, lost to World Number 8 Shi Yuqi of China in a thriller 21-13, 18-21, 17-21 on December 14. World Number 9 NG Ka Long Angus of Hongkong stunned World Number 5 Son Wan Ho of South Korea 21-15, 13-21, 21-16 in a tough encounter.
