Patna : World Number 3 tennis player Grigor Dimitrov, 26, Bulgaria, defeated Number 17 seed Nick Kyrgios, 22, Australia, in a pulsating 4th round match at Melbourne to enter the quarterfinals of the Australian Open (AO) 2018 on January 21, 2018. Dimitrov knocked out Kyrgios out of the AO 2018 with a 7-6, 7-6, 4-6, 7-6 victory. Both the players displayed brilliant and aggressive tennis in the match. Kyrgios had early this month defeated Dimitrov in the semi-finals of Brisbane International tournament in Australia.
Unseeded Kyle Edmund, UK, 23, ranked 49 in the ATP rankings, beat 76 ranked Andreas Seppi, 33, Italy, in a tough 4th round four encounter 6-7, 7-5, 6-2, 6-3 to enter the quarterfinals of AO 2018 on January 21, 2018.
