Ara : Rang Bahadur Singh alias Pintu, 36, son of Lallan Singh, an employee in the Food Corporation of India and a resident of village Vishunpura under Sahar police station, was shot dead on Godhana road under Nawada police station, Ara, in Bhojpur district, on February 9, 2019, late evening during a marriage ceremony.

Police brought the body over to Sadar Hospital, Ara, for post-mortem. Land dispute is said to be cause behind the murder. Rang Bahadur Singh alias Pintu lived at a rented house in Nawada locality under Nawada police station. A named FIR has been lodged with Nawada police station on the statement of the deceased’s father but no arrest has so far been made in this regard.

SHO, Nawada police station, Subodh Kumar said that Rang Bahadur Singh along with his family members had gone to Godhana road locality on February 9, 2019, evening, in a three- wheeler to attend the marriage ceremony of his nephew Rohan Kushwaha, Bhojpur district vice-president of Yuva JD(U). After dropping his family members, Rang Bahadur Singh came back near the three- wheeler when some armed miscreants shot on his head killing him on spot and escaped.

Lallan Singh, deceased’s father said, that he had long standing land dispute with his brother and alleged that his brother and nephews killed his son just for a one kattha plot.
