Patna : Mumbai India (MI) beat Delhi Capitals (DC) by 40 runs in the 34th match of IPL-12 at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi, on April 18, 2019, night, with leg spinner Rahul Chahar, 19, taking 3/19 in 4 overs and fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah taking 2/18 in 4 overs. Krunal Pandya, Hardik Pandya, and Lashith Malinga took one wicket each. It was MI’s 6th win in 9 matches in IPL-12. They have 12 points while DC have 10 points from 9 matches.

Chasing a target of 169 runs, DC, who lost their first wicket on 49, ended up scoring 128/9 in 20 overs with openers Shikhar Dhawan and Pritvi Shaw scoring 35 and 20 runs respectively adding 49 runs for the first wicket.  Both Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan fell to Rahul Chahar. Colin Munro fell to spinner Krunal Pandya for 3 while captain Shreyas Iyer fell to Rahul Chahar for 3.

Rishabh Pant was bowled by Jasprit Bumrah for 7. Axar Patel was also bowled by Bumrah for 26 in 23 balls with one four and a six. Keemo Paul was run out without scoring while Kagiso Rabada fell to Hardik Pandya for 9.

Earlier, electing to bat after winning the toss, MI scored 168/5 in 20 overs with openers Rohit Sharma ( captain) and Quinton de Kock (wk) scoring 30 and 35 runs respectively adding 57 runs for the first wicket while Hardik Pandya scored 32 in 15 balls with 2 fours and 3 sixes. Krunal Pandya remained unbeaten on 37 in 26 balls with 5 fours. Suryakumar Yadav fell to Kagiso Rabada for 26 in 27 balls with 2 fours.
