Patna : Police lobbed tear gas shells and resorted to lathicharge to disperse a mob that had set ablaze a truck and damaged several vehicles on Bypass on November 15, 2018, after a speeding truck knocked down one Bipin Sao, 45, during vehicle checking at Jaganpura under Kankerbagh police station, Patna.
Police said that one Bipin Sao was on way to his native village in Nalanda district on his bike with his daughter. A traffic constable stopped him and started checking documents of his two-wheeler. Suddenly, a speeding truck coming from behind hit Sao killing him on the spot. As the news of death spread in the locality, a large number of people reached there and set ablaze the truck. The mob also damaged several vehicles on the spot.
On getting information, policemen from Kankerbagh and Ram Krishna  Nagar police stations reached there. After an hour, normal traffic was restored on Bypass. Several persons were arrested for indulging in violence.
