Patna : Bihar CM and JD(U) President Nitish Kumar on October 16, 2018, appointed noted poll strategist Prashant Kishore as the national Vice-President of the party. Prashant Kishore’s elevation as JD(U) Vice-President just a month after his joining the party indicates his growing stature in the organisation. Nitish rates Prashant very highly.
A native of Buxar district, Prashant had handled the poll campaign of the then BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi in 2014 General Elections. He had collaborated with Nitish Kumar in 2015 Bihar Assembly polls. The rapid rise of Kishor, in his early 40s, is likely to cause heartburn among some senior JD(U) leaders though.
There are speculations that the JD(U) might field Prashant from Buxar parliamentary constituency represented by senior BJP leader and Union minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey.
