New Delhi : The total number of sanctioned RAF Battalions is 15 including 5 Battalions sanctioned in 2016. The bases of these Battalions are in the States of Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Telangana, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Haryana, Karnataka, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.
This was stated by Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju in a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha on December 18, 2018, according to a PIB release.
