Ara : A named FIR was lodged with Ara Town police station in Bhojpur district on December 6, 2018, late evening, against nine persons in connection with murder of a businessman Imran Khan and injury to two others.

The named accused include Khurshid Quraishi, Md Nayar, Raju Khan, Bavali Mian, Abdul Quraishi, Sarala Mian, Ahmad Mian, Shamsher Mian, and Tausif Mian. The FIR was lodged on the statement of Vakil Khan, elder brother of the deceased Imran Khan. Police are conducting raids at all possible places to arrest the culprits but no arrest has so far been made in this connection.

Eye witness said that about two dozen armed miscreants attacked a leather bag shop at Shobha Shree Market, about 50 meter away from the Ara Town police station on December 6, 2018, afternoon, and fired indiscriminately in which three persons Imran Khan, his elder brother Vakil Khan, sons of Allauddin Khan of Doodhkatora locality under Ara Town police station, and a Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) employee Faruque of village Gundi under Krishnagarh police station, were injured.  Imran Khan succumbed to his injuries on way to Sadar Hospital, Ara.

Family members of the deceased said that Imran Khan and his brothers had seven shops at Shobha Shree Market under Ara Town police station and a piece of land at Doodhkatora but Khurshid Quraishi of Kazi Tola under Ara Town police station, a notorious criminal, was eying for the plot and the shops. Khurshid Quraishi had earlier locked three of seven shops at Shobha Shree Market and always threatened Imran Khan and the family members with dire consequences. A named FIR was earlier lodged with Ara Town police station against Khurshid Quraishi and others in that case but police remained silent.

Vakil Khan alleged at the Sadar Hospital that had the police taken action against Khurshid Quraishi and others, life of Imran Khan could have been saved. He said that the Ara Town police station is located just 50 metre away from the place of occurrence and police force was stationed at some distance from Shobha Shree Market yet the miscreants committed the crime. He alleged that the Station House Officer, Ara Town police station, often had lunch and breakfast with the miscreants.

Bhojpur SP Aditya Kumar said that three police teams have been formed and they are conducting raids to nab the miscreants and no one would be spared if found guilty.
