Ara : Irate villagers blocked Sakadi-Nasariganj SH 81 and also set ablaze a truck on April 15, 2019, after a khalasi was crushed to death by a speeding tractor in its bid to overtake another vehicle. The villagers burnt tyres on road paralysing the movement of vehicles for about two hours raising slogans against Bhojpur district administration and demanding a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the next of kin of the deceased.

The blockade was lifted after positive response from the police officers. Later, police brought the body over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. The deceased was identified as Mukesh Kumar alias Bhuar, son of Arjun Singh of Zokata-Salempur village under Chandi police station.

SHO, Sandesh police station, Sudeh Kumar said that Mukesh Kumar was a sand worker and also worked as Khalasi on a tractor. On April 15 early morning, he loaded sand on a tractor at Narayanpur sand ghat under the police station and was going to Salempur. When the tractor reached near Akhgao under Sandesh police station, itsĀ  driver tried to overtake a truck. But in the process, Mukesh Kumar lost control and fell on the road and was crushed to death under the wheel of the tractor.

The villagers got agitated and set ablaze the truck. The fire tenders rushed to the spot and tried to extinguish the fire but a wheel of the truck exploded and one of the firemen Ishwar Dayal was injured. and was admitted to Ara Sadar Hospital. The police seized the tractor.
