Ara : Modesty of a teenage girl was outraged in Maruti Nagar locality under Ara Town police station in Bhojpur district on April 23, 2018, evening. A named FIR has been lodged with Woman police station, Ara, but no arrest has so far been made in this regard. The girl is aresident of Maruti Nagar.
Police brought the girl over to Ara Sadar Hospital on April 24 for her medical examination. Police said that they would produce the girl before the court to get her statement recorded under section 164 CrPC.
SHO, Woman police station, Ara, Poonam Kumari said that the victim is a classs VIII student. She said that a youth Basant Kumar of village Majhaua under Ara Town police station used to tease her en route her school. Frightened, she was staying with her sister for the last two months at Dalan Chhapara under Shahpur police station but Basant Kumar reached there on the pretext of inviting her to a marriage ceremony. He saw her at the village outside her house and lifted her on his motorcycle and brought her to Maruti Nagar locality where he outraged her modesty at a secluded place and escaped.
The girl narrated her ordeal to her family members and then a named FIR was lodged with the Woman police station.
