Patna : World No 29 in ATP rankings Grigor Dimitrov, 27, Bulgaria, and World No 34 Guido Pella, 28, Argentina, and World No 36 Stan Wawrinka, 34, Switzerland, advanced to the 2nd round of Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters 1,000, Monaco, on April 14, 2019.

Dimitrov beat World No 54 Matteo Berrettini, 22, Italy, 7-6, 6-4 in 1 hr 53 minutes in the first round on April 14, 2019. Dimitrov broke Matteo’s servive 4 times in the match while the latter broke his service twice. Dimitrov won 3 games in a row in the match to 2 by Matteo. Matteo fired 3 Aces in the match to 2 by Dimitrov. Dimitrov committed 6 double faults in the match to 4 by Matteo.

Guido Pella beat World No 32 Laslo Djere, 23, Serbia, 6-7, 6-2, 6-4 in 2 hr 25 minutes in a tough contest in the first round. Pella broke Djere’s service 4 times in the match while the latter broke his service once. Pella, however, also committed 4 double faults in the match to 1 Djere.
