Dimitrov beat World No 54 Matteo Berrettini, 22, Italy, 7-6, 6-4 in 1 hr 53 minutes in the first round on April 14, 2019. Dimitrov broke Matteo’s servive 4 times in the match while the latter broke his service twice. Dimitrov won 3 games in a row in the match to 2 by Matteo. Matteo fired 3 Aces in the match to 2 by Dimitrov. Dimitrov committed 6 double faults in the match to 4 by Matteo.

Guido Pella beat World No 32 Laslo Djere, 23, Serbia, 6-7, 6-2, 6-4 in 2 hr 25 minutes in a tough contest in the first round.
